Swoogo takes fraud and impersonation seriously. Across the internet over the past several years – and especially in recent months – there has been a surge in fraudulent activity and “scams” targeting innocent individuals.
Many of these fraudulent activities will copy the name, logo, or domain name of real businesses in order to appear legitimate. If you have been contacted by someone claiming to work for Swoogo, offering a job opportunity or requesting personal data, please read on to see how you can protect yourself.
Frequently fraudulent activities take the form of someone posing as a fake job recruiter (a “recruitment scam”) or the form of someone offering to pay money to perform online tasks (a “task scam”).
Swoogo does NOT reach out to job candidates via Whatsapp, Telegram, Facebook or similar messaging services. While our HR team may send messages via professional platforms such as LinkedIn, please take care to ensure that you are engaging with actual members of the Swoogo team or our authorized representatives. If you ever want to see a verified list of Swoogo job openings, please visit our careers page at https://swoogo.events/careers/ and apply directly via the links on that page.
Swoogo does NOT reach out to job candidates to perform paid tasks. We will never contact people who are unfamiliar with Swoogo to ask them to perform tasks, click links, or submit reviews for money. We may on occasion encourage customers to review our platform on G2, Capterra, or TrustPilot. If you’re a current Swoogo customer, and have been approached by a party claiming to represent Swoogo, always feel free to reach out to your Account Manager or the Support team with any questions.
Here’s some things to keep in mind when trying to determine if a communication or website is safe, and actually from us here at Swoogo!
âś… Swoogo DOES send emails that end in @swoogo.com
âś… Our application and log in page is at swoogo.com
✅ Our informational/marketing website (where you’re reading this now! 🙂) is at swoogo.events
âś… Our Swoogo Help Center and documentation portal is at swoogo.zendesk.com
Some behaviors that can indicate a fraudulent actor include:
❌ A job offer you weren’t expecting or that seems too good to be true.
❌ Requests for personal information from individuals you have never met.
❌ Unusual platforms being used for business communication such as Whatsapp, Telegram, Facebook Messenger, or similar.
❌ Requests for money of any kind.
❌ Website URLs or emails from domains that look odd or unfamiliar, like “swoogo-site.info.beepboop”
❌ Requests with great urgency that say you must reply immediately.
As with any website, app, or service, pay careful attention to the URLs you are visiting to ensure they are legitimate. You can also check website URLs using Google’s Safe Browsing Site Status tool here: https://transparencyreport.google.com/safe-browsing/search
If you ever have questions about a communication you’ve had, email you received, or any concern about fraudulent activity, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected].
Be safe out there,
Team Swoogo
