Event Tech Live, Emphasis on TECH!

Swoogo made our first appearance at the Event Tech Live tradeshow last month, and it was fantastic! And not just because it was hosted in Las Vegas. We came, we saw, we joined one of our favorite partners and threw an amazing party, and yeah, we pretty much conquered.

This was a new tradeshow for Swoogo, and an entirely new country for Event Tech Live! Based in London, our tech friends hopped the pond for the first time just this year, and we were thrilled to have a booth at their inaugural US show.

And what a show it was! Check out our eye-catching booth and our hard working Swoogs!

Gotta have that techstack!

So what’s special about Event Tech live? Well, it’s right there in the name: It’s all about event tech. Now, event technology means a lot to Swoogo—after all, we ARE event technology! But chances are, even our platform is only a piece of any given customer’s techstack, and that has only become more true in the last few years.

Pandemic 2020 saw the technology needed to turn in-person events into virtual suddenly because utterly necessary. But when in-person came back in a huge way … it didn’t stop being necessary. In fact, these days, it’s rare for any in-person event not to have some kind of digital component—sometimes a full-blow hybrid event.

An event techstack refers to the collection of software tools and technologies that event planners use to manage different aspects of an event, from registration and ticketing to marketing and post-event analytics. In recent years, the use of technology in event planning has become increasingly important, and a well-designed event techstack can make a significant difference in the success of a modern event.

Here are some reasons why an event techstack is so important to today’s events:

  1. Improved efficiency: An event techstack can streamline many of the time-consuming tasks involved in event planning, such as registration and ticketing, scheduling, communication with attendees and vendors, and data management.
  2. Enhanced attendee experience: A well-designed event techstack can provide attendees with a seamless and personalized experience, from registration and check-in to networking and engagement. For example, an event app can provide attendees with a customized agenda, facilitate networking, and provide real-time updates and notifications.
  3. Increased data insights: An event techstack can collect and analyze vast amounts of data, providing event planners with valuable insights into attendee behavior, preferences, and interests. This information can help event planners make data-driven decisions about event programming, marketing, and sponsorship opportunities, resulting in more effective and profitable events.
  4. Improved marketing and promotion: A great techstack can provide powerful marketing and promotion tools, such as email marketing, social media integration, and personalized communications. These tools can help event profs reach a broader audience and increase ticket sales, while also allowing them to track and measure the effectiveness of their marketing campaigns.

From payment gateways to virtual hubs, and lead tracking and marketing analytics, the number of platforms that are part of the techstack sandwich can get pretty high.

Which is why it was so cool to have an entire trade show dedicated to just the tech behind events.

Gettin’ together with our friends

Of course we saw some great familiar faces there. In particular, we partnered up with digital bestie EventBase for a rocking networking party at Gold Spike after the first day of the conference. (We decided not to take pictures because, hey … you know what they say about Vegas.) But we gathered about 200 of our tech friends and influencers (yes, event tech has influencers!) and networked and celebrated.

Other familiar faces included ….

Working hard!

The other side of playing hard is, of course, working hard! And Swoogs know how to do that! Check out our hard working crew, networking, making deals, spreading the word. Just doing what they do best.

Remembering what it’s all about

At the end of the day, well, the two days of Event Tech Live, it always comes back to Swoogo’s mission: To empower anyone to bring people together through events. And a big part of that empowerment? Making sure event profs have the techstack they need to get their jobs done. So while we had to wave goodbye to Event Tech Live and fabulous Las Vegas, Swoogo’s mission goes on … with a few extra friends we met at our favorite new tech show!
